Community Center: We have set aside about
1200 square meters on the central mesa to be
developed for community enjoyment and
recreational use. We have decided to leave the
decision about how this area would be used to our
residents. Our owners favor natural plantings and
paths, shaded areas for gatherings, possibly a
community garden or small game court.
Landscaping: We have completed installation of
desert-tolerant landscaping in many areas to
provide more shade, color and interest. We
recently created a palm-shaded beachfront oasis,
and several "ramadas" (shade structures) in the
arroyo open space areas.
Buffer Zones: Wherever possible, we've set aside
5-meter-wide (16 feet) areas as buffers along
most of the community borders. We've also
created a 10 meter buffer zone along the beach to
maintain natural beach vegetation and reduce the
impact of beach activities on our community. (All
beaches and coasts in Mexico are public.)
Natural Areas, Arroyos and Paths: The arroyos that cross the property and converge just
before the beachfront are beautiful natural features of the landscape. We intend to leave them
just as they are, with the possible exception of some erosion control and the creation of safe,
gentle paths to the beach. They may come in handy some day when a cloudburst on the bluff sends
some water our way.
