How will you know that you have "arrived" at Costa Cardonal? At the entrance to the
community, we will be creating a rock structure featuring the community name. We'll be
surrounding it with plantings of Cardon cactus, arroyo trees, native shrubs and colorful plants
and vines.
And at the entrance to each of the three roads within the community we'll be creating plantings
that highlight each road's name:
Calle Candelilla will spotlight the candelilla, whose stout
leaves resemble candles and, when in bloom, seem to have
flames at their tips.
Calle Pitaya will focus on the Pitaya Agria cactus, tall
and spiny, with flowers and fruit (said to be delicious) in
season).
Calle Golondrina will feature the delicate but vigorous
groundcover of that name, with its tiny purple flowers.
Costa Cardonal ..a desert sanctuary beside a tropical sea.
