Beach Oasis
What would a beachfront community on a
tropical sea be without a palm-shaded oasis?
While Baja is undeniably a desert place,
palms DO grow here.  Some are native, such
as the Mexican Fan Palm and Mexican Blue
Palm; some are introduced, such as the Date
and Coconut Palms.  In our beach oasis, set
where the arroyo joins the beach, we'll have
groups of all of these palm varieties, and
others as well.

While they are growing, two palm-frond-
covered palapas offer shade to residents
heading out to the beach for the afternoon.
Seating and tables under the palapas will
encourage friends to gather in the cool of
the evenings.

Bougainvillea will add color and twine up over
the palm fronds.  Other salt-tolerant plants
will fill in the plantings that surround the
oasis.

Paths will exit between the sand dunes out
onto the beach.
