The vacation home of the Kittels is a charming southwestern style casa. It gracefully flows in a
series of tiers, down the sloping beachfront lot on which it is located. The home is full of
touches that echo the settlement homes and Mexican traditions of the southwest US and
northern Mexico. While not large, it is beautifully organized so that the family (a couple with
two young children) will have all the space they need - when they aren't outside enjoying the
beach!
Drew and Marina created their home's design themselves and did intensive searches for the
aesthetic elements and practical considerations that have made their home a delightful,
comfortable and ecology-sensitive place for them to live.
Drew and Marina live, raise a family, and pursue careers in Washington D.C. Their young
children, Dominic (6) and Vezio (4) are literally "the two turtles"; they love the beach, the ocean
and everything that lives in it, floats on it and flies above it.
With family on the East Coast and in several parts of Europe, the Kittels return to Casa Dos
Tortugas only a few times a year, and we are overjoyed to see them when they arrive.
